. . . I'm a Christian and I like to look at Jesus as someone who was always inviting people into the community. For Jesus there's so such thing as an "other." There's no person who is rejected or despised or cast out. . . . Jesus is always welcoming people. . . . I would say that Jesus, if he were here today, would probably be reaching out specifically to gays and lesbians, and specifically to gay and lesbian teenagers who find themselves being rejected by society and often rejected by their religious communities . . .
